The benefits of maintaining your asphalt

doesn’t last forever. Much like a home or vehicle, asphalt is going to have problems that need to be dealt with, and maintenance is key. Thankfully, regular maintenance can be relatively inexpensive. Along with extending the life,

Our Sealing Process:
Sealing process: when we come to seal your driveway or parking area we’ll start by inspecting the asphalt for any grease or oil, once completely we’ll blow off the asphalt to remove any stones, dirt or organic materials that may have come from nearby plants.
Once that’s complete we’ll mask off any areas that are in danger of but not desired to get sealer on them. After that we begin applying sealer in a uniform layer over the asphalt and ensure full coverage to maximize the protective traits of the sealer.
Once complete we block the driveway with a ribbon or caution tape to prevent it being driven on for the next 48-72 hours, depending on the weather.
Our Crack Filling Process:
Crack filling process: When we repair cracks, we’ll start by examining all of the cracks to verify width and type of cracks, “alligator cracks” are handled slightly differently than a single crack with a few branch cracks. We’ll start by cleaning the crack out to get dirt and debris out to make room for the repair compound, this is done with a wire wheel for the most efficient and effective results.
Then the crack will be backfilled with sand and then swept over to allow the sealer to penetrate but not completely fall into the opening. Once that’s done, we’ll apply the crack filled over the cracks or cracked area.
Finally we’ll apply a thin coat of sand on top to prevent the crack filler from peeling up on vehicle tires or shoes. Once complete we block the driveway with a ribbon or caution tape to prevent it being driven on for the next 24 hours.
Our Patching Process:
Patching Process: When we apply a pothole or edge patch, we start by removing broken pieces of asphalt around a pothole or cracked edge, to prevent them from coming out in the future and causing another pothole. Then we shovel the asphalt patch to the area that’s damaged with extra to allow for compaction.
Next, we compact the patch to the same height as the existing asphalt, removing any excess that may have been added. This can be driven on immediately and does not need any time to set up or harden.
